Miramichi Facility Achieves ISO 14001 Environmental Certification

DEW Engineering’s Miramichi, New Brunswick facility today officially announced the certification of their Environmental Management System (EMS) to ISO 14001. The assessment and certification was conducted by UL DQS, Inc., a globally recognized and accredited certification body for management system standards.

DEW Engineering is the first North American subsidiary of CoorsTek to achieve this prestigious environmental certification. Both facilities are now ISO 14001 registered. The greatest benefit derived from the implementation of this management system is the simplification of corporate compliance with ever evolving environmental legislation. Other benefits include improved health and safety, and environmental awareness amongst internal and external stakeholders. With employee participation and ownership of the management system, efficiencies from both an economic as well as an environmental, health and safety perspective are realized. In support of this achievement, DEW Engineering will continue to allocate resources, provide training, create forums for discussion, set measurable targets, and work according towards continuous improvement.
